About Newport Beach Optometric Eye Care Center

In addition to our eye improvement programs, our clinic offers complete optometric services, such as comprehensive eye examinations, Ortho-K contact lenses, glasses, vision therapy, and Lasik surgery co-management. Newport Beach Optometric Eye Care Center specializes in Orthokeratology, a revolutionary contact lens therapy to non-surgically improve vision. Newport Beach Optometric Eye Care Center is conveniently located in Newport Beach's Fashion Island. Please click here for a map & directions.

Orthokeratology is a series of therapeutic contact lenses changes which gently reshape the eye's front curvature (the cornea) to reduce or eliminate nearsightedness and astigmatism. The natural unaided vision is improved dramatically in days to weeks with safe and effective results. Retainer lenses are worn as necessary to stabilize the improvement.

Eight different Eye Improvement Programs, for the prevention and correction of common vision problems, have been developed by Dr. Harris for home and in-office use. Please click here for more information.

In Hawaii, he chaired the International Orthokeratology and Refractive Surgery Symposium (1992), a cutting-edge meeting with experts from around the globe, discussing all methods of changing the cornea and improving myopia. Dr. Harris also was presented with the George Jesson Global Award for the best lecture -"The Etiology, Prevention, and Correction of Myopia", in Las Vegas at the 1991 NERF Meeting.
